About the Author

Hey there... my names Tim! I'm living in good old South Africa, studying Multimedia design. I'm torn between animation and vehicle design at the mo, but I still have time to decide. I’m a furry, but I’m a Christian first.

I've been drawing since I can remember, but only really started to do it seriously upon starting this comic. I'm a big fan of anything mechanical, cars, planes, guns, whatever. The more moving parts, the happier I am...

About the Comic

I have been into webcomics since about 2006. Before that I had too shoddy an internet connection to read any! So while perusing the net, I came across a free host, and thought “Hey! That could be fun!” Hence, my first webcomic, The Ramblings of Bored Students was born! Now TRoBS was a gag-a-strip comic inspired by my shenanigans at University of Witwatersrand. While drawing TRoBS, I had always wanted to make a more serious comic with one continuous plot.

So I sat and I thought... and thought... and then! Thought some more.

Then it occurred to me. Had I not written a potential plot somewhere before?

I dug around and HEY! A PLOT! It was called The Conspiracy. Not very catchy or original I know, but the original draft was written in about 2003! (I was 14 or 15 at the time ok?) It was inspired by the game I had just started playing at that time: Halo on PC. The original ported from XBOX. BRAND SPANKING NEW on XP! WOW!

So I’m flicking through the user manual, drawing art of the various weapons and went...” Imagine if the guns and equipment was REALLY in development RIGHT NOW, and “The Man” is trying to familiarise us with them now, so that when World War Three or an alien invasion crops up, we’ll all be ready to kill the enemy! Hence, I had my plot! (and a front cover for the novel it was going to become... damn I wish I still had it...)

It only had two real characters, and no ending. The only part that was really worth salvaging was the computer games as training concept, and the some average Joe trying to save innocent people from pointless deaths thing.

So, I had a plot, I had a medium... now I needed a cast. Firstly, I never drew people... or any living, breathing thing outside of my characters in TRoBS. My human designs were... lame... to be blunt, but they were adequate at putting my random sense of humour on the web. No, I needed characters that were easy to differentiate from one another, ‘specially due to the size my cast was becoming! Four characters weren’t gonna cut it!

Now I had only recently become acquainted with the concept of anthro characters at that time (the whole internet connection thing you see). Can’t say it has a huge following in South Africa, and I’d never payed much attention for anything art-wise outside of mechanical objects before then... So after seeing some pretty damn good anthro art, I gave it a shot! Why not? They are damn fun to draw!

So there we go! My comic was up and running! It has become a means to improve my art. Any critique on my comics is appreciated, but... please be nice! I can accept negative criticism, hell, I’ve got it in buckets since I started, but it helped me improve, and hopefully will continue to...

Enjoy the read, and God Bless
